Oxford Pride Announces Theme for 2024 Event

We are delighted to announce this year’s Pride theme for our 21st-anniversary event in 2024:

One City - One Pride: Embrace Your Rainbow

This theme emphasises our commitment to unity and inclusivity, aiming to bring together all of Oxford’s diverse communities under the vibrant colours of the rainbow flag.

Let’s celebrate love, diversity, and equality together oJune 8th, 2024. The festivities will kick off with the iconic Pride Parade, winding its way through the heart of the city. Participants and spectators alike will then converge at the Castle Quarter, where the Main Stage will host a lineup of electrifying performances and inspiring speakers.

In addition to the main stage, this year’s event will feature a Community Stage at the Westgate Shopping Centre, providing a platform for local talents and community organisations to showcase their contributions to LGBTQIA+ culture and advocacy. Excitingly, a new addition to the festivities is the Cabaret Stage on Paradise Street, offering an evening of dazzling entertainment that will continue until 10:30 pm.

Recognising the importance of accessibility, we have redesigned the layout of the Castle Quarter to ensure that the celebration is welcoming and inclusive to all visitors, including those with mobility challenges. The new layout aims to create a more accessible environment, allowing everyone to fully participate in the festivities and enjoy the spirit of Pride.

“We are thrilled to announce the theme ‘One City – One Pride: Embrace Your Rainbow’ for the 21st-anniversary celebration of Oxford Pride,” said our Chair, Rob Jordan

“This year’s event promises to be the best and biggest yet, with a diverse lineup of activities and performances that will showcase the richness of our LGBTQIA+ community and its allies. We invite everyone to join us as we come together to celebrate love, diversity, and equality in our beautiful city of Oxford.”

Oxford Pride 2024 is set to be a landmark event, uniting people from all walks of life in a joyous celebration of LGBTQIA+ identity and community.

Stay tuned for further announcements and updates on participating performers, speakers, and community organisations.
