As we celebrate Black History Month, we honour the resilience of the Black community in the UK, reflecting on their strength in the face of this year’s challenges. From fighting systemic racism to advocating for equal rights, their enduring spirit continues to inspire change. We also recognise the unique struggles of Black LGBTQIA+ individuals, who face compounded discrimination but remain powerful voices for inclusivity.
Oxford Pride proudly stands in solidarity with our Black community, committed to fostering safe and inclusive spaces for all. This month, let us celebrate the unity, diversity, and perseverance that shape our shared future.
We believe that Pride is all year round not just for one day. We put on events in safe and inclusive spaces throughout the year that include all of our LGBTQIA+ community.
The Pride Festival and Pride Day with the Parade through our beautiful city is an important opportunity for us to come together and highlight the inequalities we face and celebrate the milestones we have achieved.
Oxford Pride is dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. We strive to eliminate barriers, foster respect, and create a strong sense of community, belonging, and visibility for everyone – we invite you to join us.
Monthly meetings are held on the second or third Tuesday in Oxford Town Hall and online. Anyone interested in Oxford Pride is welcome to attend – please get in touch for details at [email protected]
It’s a Team that makes it happen and we want you to be part of it whether you have an hour, a day, or even more to spare – you can make a difference!
Volunteering with Pride is a great way to contribute, meet new people and for you to be a part of all that Pride means. Whether you want to know about the organising team or how you can help at one of our events we would love to hear from you.
If you are from a business or organisation that wants to look at corporate volunteering with us, we would be thrilled to chat – drop us an email at [email protected]
